How SeizeControl by FND Connect handles account, health, wearable and anonymised research data.
Last updated: 2 August 2026Who We Are
SeizeControl is a seizure tracking and support product in the FND Connect family (FND CONNECT CIC). It is designed to help people keep a clearer personal record for review, reflection and care conversations.
SeizeControl and FND Connect are the same organisation. Support, product improvement and anonymised research learning may operate across both systems under these policies.
For privacy queries, data access requests, correction requests or deletion requests, contact the SeizeControl support team using the contact details shown inside the app.
Information We Collect
- Account details, including email address and optional profile information.
- Health and symptom information you choose to enter, including seizure logs, symptoms, medication schedules, Period Tracker context, wearable imports and notes.
- Shared-care information, including who can access a care record, their Partner, Carer or Family member role, and an activity trail showing who viewed, added, changed or exported care information.
- Technical information needed to keep the app secure, such as session cookies, device type, browser information and audit timestamps.
- Research contribution data you provide (for example co-occurring conditions and demographic ranges), plus structured event fields used only in anonymised aggregate form when research sharing is enabled for your account.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide your personal seizure record, dashboards, forecasts, medication support and reports.
- To help you prepare clearer summaries for appointments or support conversations.
- To improve safety, reliability, accessibility and product quality of SeizeControl and related FND Connect services.
- To create anonymised, aggregated community and clinician-facing insights that never identify individuals.
- To respect your choices for AI features, research sharing (including opt-out) and direct research contact.
Shared Care and Linked Records
The record owner can invite another SeizeControl account as a Partner, Carer or Family member. Each person signs in using their own account; nobody needs to share a password. The role chosen by the owner controls what the invited person can see or do.
Care entries and exports created through shared access record the subject, the signed-in person, their role, the action, source and time. This attribution is visible in the care record and can be included in reports. The owner can change or revoke access at any time.
A Partner can work across the care record, but cannot manage the owner’s sign-in, Apple account link, personal consent choices, delegates, raw account export or account deletion. HealthKit data from a Partner’s own device is never imported into somebody else’s record.
AI and Pattern Analysis
AI features are off unless the record owner makes a separate affirmative choice. When enabled, some features can summarise saved information or look for patterns in that record. These features are support tools and may be wrong or incomplete. They should not be treated as diagnosis, treatment advice or emergency guidance.
Where an external model provider is used, we aim to send the minimum information needed for the requested feature and do not use your personal health record to train general AI models.
Anonymised Research and Product Learning
Research sharing is off unless you make a separate affirmative choice. If enabled, structured fields from logs and optional questionnaire answers may be combined with other users’ data so we can improve the service and help clinicians understand community patterns.
These outputs do not include your name, email, free-text notes that identify you, or individual timelines. They are statistics and high-level signals only — never personal case studies.
Because SeizeControl and FND Connect are one organisation, anonymised aggregates may be used across both products (including clinician research surfaces on FND Connect). Nothing personally identifiable is shared in that research layer.
You can withdraw anonymised aggregate research sharing at any time in Account settings or during consent review. Withdrawing does not remove your personal record from your own account; it stops new inclusion of your data in aggregate research outputs. Direct contact about research studies remains optional and off by default.
Data Retention and Deletion
- We keep your account data while your account is active or while needed to provide the service.
- You can request a copy, correction or deletion of your account data.
- Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited period before permanent removal.
- Aggregated research outputs that no longer identify you may not be reversible to your account.
Your Rights
- Access the information held about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Export your data where available.
- Opt out of anonymised aggregate research sharing, or withdraw direct research contact and AI-related choices where applicable.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Raise a privacy concern with the support team.
