Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) clinic is an outpatient clinic run by a small multidisciplinary team (MDT) of a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist. We aim at providing education around understanding the functional diagnosis and symptom management. The treatment is based on a self-management approach to alleviate the distress from the symptoms experienced and practicing strategies/ exercises to retrain brain allowing restoring the disrupted function of the body. Once a patient is accepted within the service, they are seen in the clinic by the team for detailed MDT assessment. Patients often receive individual and joint sessions from each discipline based on their needs and these can be physical appointments in the clinic. The clinic is situated at Danesbury Neurological Centre, Welwyn. The treatment package is of 5-6 sessions in total. However, patients may receive more sessions if needed to complete their treatment. Ask your GP whether they can refer. We have not separately verified Patient Choice.
