Credential review
GMC checks are attempted automatically, then held for review where needed.
For doctors, FND Connect attempts a best-effort lookup against the public GMC register using the supplied GMC reference number and professional name. If that lookup is blocked, unclear or for a non-GMC profession, the application moves to manual review.
The GMC remains the authoritative source for doctor registration. Public FND Connect listings are an FND-aware directory, not a replacement for employer or clinical governance checks.
