UK FND Care Access Index

A count of NHS areas where a dedicated FND pathway, team or clinic was found in public sources, and where it was not. The figures are read from the pathway records checked 26 October 2026.

What this index counts

Each row is one NHS area in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. The colour is the pathway record for that area. It is the same record as the FND pathway tracker. This page is the written count. The tracker is the map.

  • Green 9 named pathways
  • Amber 13 partial or still developing
  • Red 40 with no dedicated pathway found in public sources
  • Not yet reviewed 0

62 NHS areas in this index.

How to read the colours

  • Green. A named specialist pathway, team or clinic has been identified.
  • Amber. Access is partial, still being developed, or shared with another area.
  • Red. No dedicated FND pathway was identified from public sources. Red does not mean that no neurology or rehabilitation care exists.
  • Not yet reviewed. The public-source check is not finished. That is missing information. It is a different finding from red.

Statuses reflect publicly identifiable dedicated FND pathways, specialist MDTs or clinics. Red means no dedicated pathway was identified from public sources — not that no care exists. Amber means partial access, pathway development, or shared regional services. Green means a named specialist service or published local pathway.

What this index does not do

It does not rank hospitals, publish waiting times, or use SeizeControl symptom diaries. It does not refer you. For a personal next step, use Find FND care and NHS referral options. For the place you live, open that area's own page. Those pages keep the local evidence, services and groups.

Scotland
