Functional Neurological Disorder changes how the brain sends and receives information. Symptoms are real and can be severely disabling, yet the practical help someone needs may be unavailable locally, delayed, or outside standard eligibility rules.
The Grant Pot exists for that gap. It makes assessed, discretionary awards for practical FND-related support when statutory and other routes cannot meet the need adequately or promptly.

Be heard
Communication aids such as AAC tools, cards and equipment for people whose FND affects speech or makes communication unreliable.
Reach specialist support
FND-informed physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychological support, therapy tools or equipment where appropriate.
Get help while it still helps
Time-limited, clinically appropriate practical support when an NHS, local-authority or other route is unavailable, unsuitable or cannot meet the need promptly.
The fund is not emergency care, a replacement for benefits, or a guarantee of private treatment. Awards are limited, discretionary and governed by our Grant & Support Policy.

What donors usually want to know
Is this replacing the NHS?
No. People should use NHS, local-authority and other statutory support where it is adequate and available. The Grant Pot considers assessed gaps when those routes cannot meet an eligible FND-related need adequately or promptly. It is never emergency care.
Does my donation definitely buy one item?
No. Gifts join the Grant Pot rather than being matched to a named person or item. This protects applicants' privacy and lets the team assess needs fairly. Awards remain limited and discretionary.
What happens after the current target is reached?
The target is a milestone, not a cap. The campaign is the long-term engine for the Grant Pot, so eligible awards can continue as funds become available.
Can someone apply for help now?
Yes. UK applications are open through the Grant & Support application. Funding is never guaranteed, even when someone is eligible.
