FND Connect Community Alliance

About the Community Alliance

Finding support should start with what is available near you. FND Connect Community Alliance brings together groups run by charities, community organisations and independent organisers, alongside our own FND Connect Support Network.

Every group keeps its own identity. We bring the information together so you can find the support that suits you.

Listing a group does not mean it is operated, insured, clinically approved or supervised by FND Connect.

What each name means

FND Connect Support Network. Groups operated through FND Connect’s existing support-group programme.

FND Connect Community Alliance. The wider directory, including FND Connect groups and independently operated groups.

Friends of FND. The existing monthly donor programme. It is separate from this directory.

Who can be listed

UK physical groups, and online groups that people in the UK can join. The organiser must be able to publish the details and any logo. We verify the submitter’s email and review the listing before it goes live.

Listing a group here does not enrol anyone in FND Connect volunteer checks, DBS, training or Group Manager. Starting an FND Connect-operated group is a separate application through the Support Network volunteer programme.

How listing works

  1. Submit the group details, including frequency, timing, venue or online access, a public contact route, and a logo if the group is branded.
  2. Confirm the organiser email.
  3. FND Connect reviews the information. We may ask for changes.
  4. Approved listings appear in the directory. Organisers reconfirm details about every 90 days.

Questions

What is the Community Alliance?

It is an open directory of FND support groups in the UK, including FND Connect Support Network groups and groups run by other organisations or independent organisers. We publish the information so people can find support near them.

Does listing a group mean FND Connect runs it?

No. FND Connect Support Network groups are operated through our volunteer programme. Every other listing keeps its own organiser, insurance and way of working. A listing is information, not a clinical or insurance endorsement.

Who can submit a group?

An organiser, co-organiser or someone authorised by the organisation. We ask you to confirm that you may publish the details and any logo. We verify your email and review the listing before it goes live.

Is this the same as Friends of FND?

No. Friends of FND is our monthly donor programme. The Alliance is a support-group directory.

Can I start an FND Connect-operated group instead?

Yes. That is a separate application through the FND Connect Support Network volunteer programme. Alliance membership does not enrol you in DBS checks, training or Group Manager.
