Independent advice

Clinical and Professional Advisory Group

The group advises on accuracy, educational quality and the limits of digital tools. It does not manage FND Connect day to day. It is not an NHS committee or a statutory clinical regulator.

What the group may do

  • Review relevant clinical and educational materials
  • Identify inaccuracies or potentially misleading information
  • Recommend appropriate evidence and guidance
  • Review patient-facing explanations for accuracy
  • Advise on the scope and limitations of digital tools
  • Comment on proposed educational programmes
  • Highlight research opportunities
  • Advise on appropriate evaluation methods
  • Help identify professional knowledge gaps
  • Recommend improvements to safeguarding and clinical escalation information

Expertise we are looking for

These are target areas, not posts that must be filled immediately. The group will start small and expand only where there is genuine need and capacity.

  • Consultant neurologist with FND experience
  • Neuropsychiatrist or relevant psychiatrist
  • Neurophysiotherapist
  • Occupational therapist
  • Clinical psychologist
  • Speech and language therapist
  • Functional seizure specialist
  • Paediatric clinician
  • Clinical research or research-governance specialist
  • Person with lived experience of FND
  • Carer representative
  • Other relevant expertise

Membership does not mean an adviser’s employer endorses FND Connect. Advisers review subjects within their competence and may disagree without pressure to approve a publication or product. Paid advisory work is documented.
