Kay Lawrence’s story
❤️ PLEASE HELP ME RAISE AWARENESS OF FND ❤️
Hi everyone, my name is Kay, and I want to share a little bit of my story with you all.
On 4th November 2024, my life changed in a way I could never have imagined. I suddenly became ill at work and experienced 12 seizures in just one day. I had never experienced anything like this before. I was rushed to Royal Stoke Hospital, where I was admitted for five days and diagnosed with Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD) and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
As you can imagine, this turned my whole world upside down. 💔
I went from working and living my life to being unable to continue working, eventually losing my job. It has affected me both physically and mentally, and the exhaustion that comes with living with this condition is something that is incredibly difficult to explain unless you have experienced it yourself.
FND can change your life in an instant. One day, you can feel absolutely fine, and the next, you can be struggling with symptoms such as seizures, tics, movement difficulties and many other neurological symptoms.
It doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed; it affects their families, loved ones and everyone around them. It can turn lives upside down in ways people simply don’t see.
I am sharing my story because FND needs more awareness, more understanding and more support. Too many people are living with this condition while trying to explain something that others may not understand.
Please, please 🙏🏽 help me spread the word. Share my story, talk about FND and help others understand the impact it can have on people’s lives.
You never know what someone is going through behind closed doors, and a little understanding, kindness and support can make such a difference.
❤️ PLEASE SHARE — LET’S RAISE AWARENESS OF FND TOGETHER! ❤️
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read, share and support me on this journey.
Love, Kay ❤️
